Last weekend was Freedom Weekend Aloft here in Simpsonville. It is a festival, so there are plenty of funnel cakes and all that fun stuff, and there are also rides and carnival-type things for kids. This is the first year that it was held at our park here in town, and we are really hoping they will hold it here from now on. The highlight of the evening was when we saw the hot air balloons take-off. It was incredibly hot, but overall it was a very fun family outing. Griffin loved the carousel and riding the train, and Maddy was good for the most part and eventually fell asleep. I made the mistake of wearing new sandals and have some pretty nasty blisters to show for it.
